OUR STORY

Hello Everyone, we are the Walter family! We are excited to introduce ourselves as the new owners/hosts of Acorn Hill Resort. We have been having fun moving into the lodge and getting ready for our 1st season!

 

Here is a little about us:

Jeff and Mary, along with their son Kyle, his wife Bekah and son Jackson and Jeff and Mary’s daughter Shannon are looking forward to their new life here in Minnesota.

 

For the past 30 years, we have lived in Elgin, IL. Our family was running a soccer club in Elgin for 28 years. In addition to the soccer club, Jeff and Kyle were running a 200,000 sq./ft Indoor sports facility. Mary was working at a Meijer grocery store for 17 years. Bekah was working as a supervisory pharmacy technician in a hospital and is currently working in a similar position in the area. Shannon was a coach and trainer for our club and running her own business on the side. 

 

Our family has been coming to Leech Lake for 25 years on vacations. It has become a dream of ours to own one of the many resorts we have visited over the years. We are grateful for this opportunity and look forward to the adventure ahead. ​
